Curriculum vitae
Herbert Zech (born 1974) studied law at the universities of Erlangen and Munich (First State Exam, 1999). After his bar exam at the Munich Court of Appeal (= Second State Exam, 2001) he wrote his doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Rainer Hausmann, on "Management liability in case of company capital losses in Germany and Italy (Limited liability company)“ at the universities of Konstanz and Verona.
Between 2002 and 2003 he worked as an attorney in the field of tax and company law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's Munich office.
From 2003 onwards he studied biology at the University of Kaiserslautern (Diplom, 2007). There, since 2005, he was also an assistant researcher of Prof. Dr. Dr. Jürgen Ensthaler at the chair for private and economic law.
Since 2007 Herbert Zech has been senior lecturer at the University of Bayreuth working with Prof. Dr. Ansgar Ohly, LL.M. His main fields of academic interest are intellectual property law, especially bio- and nanotechnology patents, and company law.
